Please find selected abstracts of this important meeting which highlighted the collaboration between the Institute of Medicine, Kathmandu, Nepal and the National Center for Global Health and Medicine , Tokyo, Japan.

Included are presentations on molecular epidemiology of local ESBL, CRE and Acinetobacter baumannii isolates from Kathmandu locations. Also landmark studies on nosocomial rotavirus transmission at Kanti Childrens Hospital and a survey of the status of Infection Control at 5 hospitals in Kathmandu.
